Buddhist monk Gautam Buddha was born around 5th or 6th Century BC in Nepal. As a child, he always had various questions regarding life. At the age of 20, he came across certain truths and unfair practices of life, which made him very unhappy. He left his home and family to find more about enlightenment.   • “It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you.”

In this quote, Buddha explains that if you have won the battle from within, you do not need to win any more battles in this life. Mental peace, happiness and contentment is the greatest victory. As per this quote, one should always concentrate on what is remaining and never thinking about what has been done. This will only give you a constant feeling of achievement and may also lead you to become egoistic about yourself.
